Rep. Ken Gottlieb, D-Hollywood
Broward County's delegation chairman earned bipartisan
praise for negotiating passage of almost a dozen controversy-laden
local bills dealing with land use and annexation powers,
along with the creation of a new municipality in Broward.
He's a Democratic Party stalwart who isn't afraid to
speak out against GOP leaders, especially on social
services funding, school policies and elections reform.
But with a quick, dry wit, Gottlieb is tolerated and
respected by Republicans who like his down-to-business
approach.
